Performance Management System

Performance management helps ensure the state's limited transportation resources are invested in the best performing projects and programs for securing Georgia's future economic vitality and quality of life.

In the Statewide Strategic Transportation Plan (SSTP), the state adopted four major transportation goals, which are supported by ten specific, measurable performance objectives. Progress reports on meeting those goals are required every six months, and, per law, the entire SSTP is to be updated biennially. GRTA is collaborating with the Georgia Department of Transportation's Director of Planning to develop and maintain a Transportation Performance Management System.

A robust performance management system will guide Georgia's transportation investments towards strategic projects based on these goals, drive projects and programs towards on-time and on-budget execution, and deliver the expected performance that captures the economic benefits envisioned in the Statewide Strategic Transportation Plan (SSTP).

Transportation MAP Report

The Transportation MAP Report is a collaborative effort of transportation agencies and professionals in metropolitan Atlanta. Each year it sets performance measures for tracking the performance of the transportation system in Metropolitan Atlanta. Measures are organized in six general categories—Mobility, Transit Accessibility, Air Quality, Safety, Customer Satisfaction, and Transportation System Performance. These categories broadly align with the four statewide transportation goals—supporting economic growth and competitiveness, ensuring safety and security, maximizing the value of transportation assets, and minimizing impact on the environment.
